The Gambia is widely acknowledged as one of the most vulnerable countries in Africa on the impacts of climate change, having experience natural disasters including drought-related crop failures and floods which have an impact on the health and food security of the Country.

The Government of the Gambia has taken additional and equally important steps to address the effects of climate change. These include the establishment of the National Climate Change Committee and efforts are underway to submit our 3 National Communications. There have been many strategic documents developed and implemented such as the National Adaptation Program of Actions (NAPA).
