We need resources to achieve our climate change programmes that include commitments and targets in our NDC, adapt to climate change impacts and build the resilience of our people and communities, including rural communities and Agriculture to ensure food security and sustainable development.
The Vice President of the Gambia Dr Isatou Touray was addressing government stakeholders at a breakfast meeting with donors partners to support government efforts to mobilize resources to implement its NDCs targets.
"Climate Change is a cross-cutting issue covering all sectors of national development which needs a holistic approach and an enabling environment to combat its negative impact as well as build the resilient of the various sectors ranging from ecosystems, agriculture and ensuring impacts" the VP added.
The Minister of Environment Climate Change and Natural Resources Hon Lamin Dibba speaking to the donor community applauded the efforts of supporting 100 LDCs countries in implementing the NDCs through communities affected by climate change.
He added, the agriculture sector contributes to climate change to ensure all year production by supporting farmers to venture into agroforestry.
