The Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Natural Resources under the Eco System Based Adaptation Project EbA recently conducted nationwide handing over of beekeeping enterprise products which includes beehive equipment along with protective tools and protective clothing to various forest communities across the region's. The handing over of beekeeping equipment was done after market analysis and development was carried out in 30 Communities forest which resulted to the development of Enterprise Development Plans (EDPs).
The EbA project found it necessary to provide grants support and technical assistance through a dedicated beekeeping enterprise and extension service providers for ensuring sustainability.
The Communities which benefitted from the small grants will be trained on processing honey and livelihood skills operating of beekeeping equipment. During consultations various communities outline women groups to be empower on training and mini grants to enhance their livelihoods to reduce poverty within rural communities.
Various community forest parks and enterprises were awarded with certificates in recognition of support and grant approval from the project which includes Kudang CRR, Manduar Kiang Kerewan Samba Sira CRR South other regions including URR North and South are part of the regional consultations.
