On 18th of September,2019 Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure(MOICI) awarded a contract to HI-TECH Engineering to establish a Government Wide Area Network (GOV NET).
GOV NET is intended to facilitate intra-government electronic transactions and electronic services delivery in a reliable, efficient, effective, robust and secure manner.
The project which is entirely government funded is expected to take 3months to complete. Once completed, it would help facilitate a medium for existing e-Government applications such as Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS), GOV Email, Ministries Department and Agencies(MDA’s) websites, District Health Information System(DHIS) and among others to ride on.
The GOV-NET is a part of a list of activities being undertaken by MOICI to facilitate E-Governance.
